Now when April is upon us, it’s high time to order your copy of the
British Rowing Almanack, which came out for the first time 137 years ago, in 1861! For the 2011 edition, this old publication, which of course is published by British Rowing, has a brand new editor, Maggie Phillips. The former editor, Keith Osborne, had been the editor for half a century - yes, an amazing 50 years! However, Osborne is not giving up being involved with the
Almanack. In November last year he published an index of all the previous published
Almanacks. This is an enormous help for rowing historians.

Of course, the
Almanack is not the only publication Keith Osborne has published. He has also written, to mention a few,
Boat Racing in Britain 1715-1975 (1975),
One Man Went to Row (1998), and
1000 Years of Rowing on The Dee (2003).
