'Diamond' is forever...
According to the paper Pune Mirror in India, the College of Engineering, Pune, Boat Club has the only wooden single scull left in the country. The boat, H M Ganesh Rao, is more than 50 years old, the paper writes. In the article, the boat is called 'a diamond scull', which, the paper states, "probably derives its name from the 'Diamond Challenge Sculls', a rowing event for men's single sculls at the annual Henley Royal Regatta on the River Thames in England".
The boat club, which has organised an annual regatta since 1928 on the Mula River, plan to row the H M Ganesh Rao in the regatta on 13 March. 100 students are participating, not only in rowing, but other water games, too. Read the nice article by clicking here.
