New Book: Men Of Kent
Next month, on 14 September to be more exact, a new rowing book will come out here in the States. The book, Men of Kent, by Rick Rinehart is published by Lyons Press and is listed at $14.95 (cheaper at Amazon.com). From a blurb: "The Kent School’s 1972 crew, of which the author was a part, had a 46-0 winning streak, broke three course records, and claimed a national championship. In its final race, at the fabled Henley Royal Regatta in England—a race broadcast on television worldwide—it barely edged the Canadian National Champions. Kent’s achievement merited a banner headline in the New York Times sports section, and is regarded as one of the most breathtaking finishes in Henley’s long history."
I am sure that there will be a book signing coming up this autumn, in or around the Rowing Hall of Fame in Mystic, or in Boston for the Head of the Charles.
