Just before Christmas, on 22 December, Sir Steve Redgrave, Britain’s greatest Olympian, was honoured with a lifetime achievement award at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Ceremony. Read more here.

About Me
- Göran R Buckhorn
- I am a Swede living in Connecticut, a magazine editor, who is also a freelance culture scribe and an independent rowing historian. In 1990, I co-founded the Swedish rowing magazine, SVENSK RODD, for which I am now a contributing editor. Having written several articles on the history of rowing for magazines and books, since October 2009, I pen the monthly history column ‘In this month…’ for British Rowing's (former ARA) ROWING & REGATTA in London. I am one of the directors of Friends of Rowing History, a group of rowing historians linked to the NRF's National Rowing Hall of Fame and the rowing exhibit 'Let Her Run' at Mystic Seaport, Mystic, Connecticut. Regular contributors and correspondents to "Hear The Boat Sing" (HTBS) are: Hélène Rémond, France; Tim Koch and Greg Denieffe, both U.K.; and Philip Kuepper, poet in Mystic.
